NORTH STAFFORD — For years, a Rite Aid Pharmacy at Aquia Town Center had an unusual agreement.

It was the only pharmacy allowed to locate in what was one of the busiest shopping centers in Stafford County, located in near the intersection of Routes 1, 610, and Interstate 95 in North Stafford.

STAFFORD COUNTY — The Patawomeck Indian Tribe hasn’t had a permanent home for 300 years, but the Stafford Board of Supervisors voted 7-0 in favor of leasing a portion of a county-owned property at Duff Green Park to the tribe.

It is a 10-year lease and can be renewed up to four additional times.


DUMFRIES — Some services usually provided at the Virginia DMV in Woodbridge could come to Dumfries Town Hall.

Town leaders are in negotiations to bring a DMV Select to the town. Dumfries residents would be able to make town tax payments and apply for permits, as well as have some certain DMV transactions processed.

This fall, the new John D. Jenkins Elementary School will open, located near the busy intersection of the parkway and Hillendale Drive, where a Sheetz gas station sits.
