MANASSAS – Abberly Avera, a new apartment living community, has just opened by welcoming its first residents and unveiling community amenities. Located at 11601 Hokie Stone Loop in Manassas, this community will consist of 13 buildings with a total of 336 apartment homes.

ALEXANDRIA – A Woodbridge woman was sentenced today to five years in prison for buying and selling wholesale quantities of high-grade methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Nina Booher, 36, bought pounds of methamphetamine for redistribution to her customers in Northern Virginia. Beginning in early 2018, Booher was buying pounds of methamphetamine every two or three weeks from her boyfriend and co-conspirator, Matthew Colby Cochran. Then, when she learned the identity of her boyfriend’s supplier, who was based in New York, she started buying methamphetamine directly from the supplier.
RICHMOND — The State Board for Community Colleges decided to maintain the current in-state tuition and mandatory fees for the 2019-2020 academic year.
The Board’s decision means tuition will remain at today’s rate of $154 per credit hour and keeps community college tuition and mandatory fees at approximately one-third of the comparable costs of attending Virginia’s public four-year universities.
WOODBRIDGE — On May 16, students from C.D. Hylton High School’s automotive class completed the final touches of a rebuild project.
The project, which they’ve been working on since January, was to rebuild a 2002 Jeep.

STAFFORD — The Stafford County Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department is hosting a variety of activities this summer throughout their parks.
STAFFORD COUNTY — Fire crews were called to a fire inside a three-story apartment.
At 11:39 p.m. Sunday, crews from the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department were called to the 200 block of Chivalry Way in the Berea off Route 17.
WOODBRIDGE — Firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 15010 Illinois Road in Woodbridge at 9:50 p.m. Sunday.
Fire crews arrived on scene and found smoke. After locating and speaking with the residents of the house, firefighters found a fire in the first-floor laundry room.
OCCOQUAN — New improvements are coming to the busy intersection of Old Bridge and Occoquan roads.
The state will allocate $11.8 million to improve the 10-lane junction just outside the Occoquan town.
