STAFFORD COUNTY — A tractor-trailer overturned at the intersection of Route 1 and Layhill Road.

About 100 gallons of diesel spilled from the truck into the nearby Claiborne Run, causing a major HAZMAT situation in the area, Stafford fire and rescue Chief Joseph Cardello. State authorities have been called in to help Stafford County crews with the clean up that is expected to take five to six hours.

He attended Brown Elementary School and graduated from Jennie Dean (Manassas Industrial School for Colored Youth). He made his living as a truck driver for over 50 years.

WARRENTON — Novant Health UVA Health System’s Prince William and Haymarket Medical Centers have been recognized by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association.
