STAFFORD COUNTY — (Press Release) Two suspects were arrested on Saturday by units with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office following a shooting at the Days Inn located at 14 Simpson Road.
On July 27, 2019, at approximately 3:56 p.m., units responded to the Days Inn in reference to a reported shooting of a person. Upon arrival, units observed a small group of people in front of the hotel. They told deputies that someone had been shot.
MANASSAS — (Press Release) The City of Manassas is pleased to announce that Scott Horan will be the new Public Works Director effective July 22, 2019. Scott comes to the City with more than 15 years of service to Stafford County Public Schools and more than 20 years of service as an Air Force Engineering Officer.
As Public Works Director for the City of Manassas, Horan will oversee all Public Works functions which include Buildings & Grounds Maintenance, Cemeteries, Streets, Traffic Controls, Solid Waste and Vehicle Maintenance.

DALE CITY – (Press Release) Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) structure and bridge crews continue work to replace a large stormwater pipe on Princedale Drive that failed after heavy rains on July 4, causing a sinkhole. The road is expected to remain closed between Saddler Lane and Roundtree Drive for four more weeks, weather permitting.
The 84-inch diameter galvanized metal pipe had been conveying water for a tributary of Neabsco Creek. After several inches of rain in a short period of time on July 4, the force of the water pushed the pipe into the creek, causing the asphalt above to fail.

Reginald Willie Joyner was born December 26, 1964 to Rosita Joyner of Charleston, S.C. and the late Willie J. Joyner of Fayettville, N.C. Reggie attended Charleston Public Schools and Burke High School in Charleston, S.C. and from there became a car salesman for a number of years. His passion in life was cooking as he loved to cook for others. He pursued his passion and later became a chef at Olive Garden. He was a loving father, son and brother. He was a motivator, peacemaker and cared greatly about others. On July 21, 2019 at the age of 54, he went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by three beautiful children Reginald Joyner (Big Reggie), Reginald Joyner (Little Reggie), and Linda Kagarise, two sisters Gesille Hamilton and Michelle Norris, three nephews Joshua Hamilton, Damon Norris and Samuel Hamilton, four grandchildren and a host of cousins, family and friends which he loved dearly. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 11am-1pm with a service at 1pm at Miller Funeral Home, 3200 Golansky Blvd., Woodbridge, VA 22192.
