A week after Manassas City Police Chief Douglas Keen had told Manassas City Council that he was chased by 200 protestors during a riot on Sunday, May 31, he’s clarified his earlier statement.
“So I said chased, I own those words, I said ‘em. Retreated and moving back would be a better description. We were not chased down the street, being chased by a bully with rocks being thrown at us. We were pushed backwards and continued to move into Battery Heights,” Keen said during a meeting of the Manassas City Coucnil on Monday, June 8.
The Children’s Museum of Richmond announced it is permanently closing its Fredericksburg location at 1275 Jefferson Davis Highway.
The closure was described as a cost-cutting measure during the coronavirus pandemic.
Prince Willian police were called to the Braemar neighborhood this morning after someone spraypainted graffiti on two streets.

Karen Murphy , A loving sister, mother and grandmother, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday June 6th at Mary Washington hospital with her daughters and grandson Joaquin by her side.
Karen was born on June 7 1954 in Casablanca Morocco to her late parents William Robert and Eleanor Alice Murphy. In her free time she loved to play Facebook games and talk with her friends she also loved coloring in her adult coloring books another hobby she had was making flower arrangements.
Schools will be opening in the fall, at least in some capacity.

Milling and paving on I-95 will continue near the Exit 140 Diverging Diamond Interchange in Stafford County, as well as various construction activities for the I-95 Southbound Rappahannock River Crossing project and the I-95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the ramp from northbound I-95 to eastbound Dale Boulevard (Exit 156A) will be closed Wednesday night, June 10 between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. the following morning for asphalt patching.
