In other incidents, a male suspect stole over $200 worth of cigarettes from a 7-Eleven on Town Center Boulevard. At Walmart on Garrisonville Road, two separate incidents of skip scanning were reported, resulting in summonses for shoplifting. Another Walmart location reported a female suspect stealing a generator and fleeing in a gray SUV.
At the Clarion Inn on Warrenton Road, cash went missing during an interaction with a male known as “PJ,” who also disappeared. Additionally, a male was charged with public intoxication on Hope Road after being found stumbling with a nearly empty vodka bottle. He was wanted on outstanding warrants and is now held at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – Frustration over overcrowded classrooms at Covington-Harper Elementary School resurfaced this week as parents called on the Prince William County School Board to revisit rezoning plans that could ease conditions at the Dumfries-area school.
During the October 1 School Board meeting, a parent accused the board and Superintendent LaTanya McDade of “choosing personal opinions over students” by refusing to rezone Covington-Harper. The parent urged members to act or face a “vote of no confidence” from families concerned about student safety and learning conditions.

Leaked text messages from Democratic attorney general nominee Jay Jones describing violent fantasies have rattled Virginia’s 2025 races, but so far, party leaders across the commonwealth are standing by him.
A 40-year-old woman was found unconscious in a vehicle on the 13500 block of Wellington Center Circle in Gainesville. Officers responded to the scene on October 6 at 12:25 p.m., where the woman was pronounced dead.
Preliminary investigations suggest that there are no signs of foul play, and the community is not at risk. Further information will be released if necessary, police said.
An altercation between two groups of teens at Potomac Mills in Woodbridge escalated when an 18-year-old brandished a firearm towards a 14-year-old male.
The incident occurred near the food court, prompting a chase to Round 1 Bowling & Arcade, where police were notified. The suspect was detained, and a stolen firearm was recovered. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported.
