Black Lives Matter supporters filled the Prince William Board of County Supervisors meeting chamber today in Woodbridge.

Through statements laced with profanity, they attacked the sitting members of the elected body, which is controlled by a Democratic majority, for having a discussion about issuing a proclamation that “all lives matter,” immediately preceding the issuance of a proclamation that “black lives matter,” and demanded the county end its partnership with Federal Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.


Obituaries

Ronald (Ron) Lee Thompson was born February 20, 1940, in Radford, Virginia, and grew up in New River, Virginia.  He was the oldest child of the late Matthew Percell Thompson and Mary Louise Sheffey Thompson.  Ron passed away on May 22, 2020 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Ron was baptized and accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as his personal savior at an early age. He remained active in worship and church service all of his life.


Obituaries

Joseph Patrick O’Donnell, 79, passed away on June 15, 2020. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 56 years, Aileen O’Donnell; his children Mary Lave (Thomas), Michael O’Donnell, and David O’Donnell (Jewel); his three grandchildren; his five great grandchildren; and his brother Timothy O’Donnell (Mary Ann); and a host of nieces and nephews.

Joseph was a Scout Leader when he was younger. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Joseph was an avid woodworker and shared his passion with his children.

A police pursuit in North Stafford ended with a vehicle careening through a gate and crashing into a ditch, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office tells us.

Traffic

OmniRide will resume operating all routes and will increase service levels on OmniRide Express buses starting on Monday, June 22.

Weekday Express bus services to destinations in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., will run on a Friday schedule, which is one step down from full-service. The increase in service levels is based on improving coronavirus conditions and the Governor’s order to begin reopening the state.
