The effort to build a bypass around Manassas City hit a road block today after it failed to gain the support of the elected supervisor of the district where the would would be built.
Prince William County Coles District Supervisor Yesli Vega announced her opposition the project that would extend the four lanes of Godwin Drive from its terminus near the Novant/UVA Health Prince William Medical Center in Manassas through a residential neighborhood, connecting it with Route 28 in Fairfax County.

Police are looking for a man they say pulled out a box cutter and used it during a fight on board an OmniRide bus.
Police were were called July 31, at 8:22 a.m to Prince William Parkway and Worth Avenue in Woodbridge to investigate a report of a fight on a bus. A 33-year-old victim told police that he and another man got into a fight, and then the the suspect used the box cutter to slice the victim’s leg before he ran off the bus.
Those who were seeking a test for the coronavirus in Prince William will have to wait. Testing sites that were scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, will be closed due to Tropical Storm Isaias, which is expected to affect our region throughout the day on Tuesday.
