Charles “Chuck” Corbett, 91, died October 3, 2020, at home with his wife by his side in Lake Ridge, Virginia.

Chuck was born on March 23, 1929 in Waycross, Georgia. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was deployed to the 7th Infantry Division in Korea. He was discharged as a staff sergeant and attended the University of Georgia. After graduating in 1951 with a BA in Journalism, Chuck rejoined the Army as a commissioned officer. His military career included post commands in Japan, Germany and Korea.


Prince William

Prince William County Supervisors are due in court at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Brett Gloss, a county resident sued the Board of County Supervisors claiming the Board violated Virginia’s Freedom of Information Act law when five of the eight County Supervisors attended a meeting of the police department’s Citizen Advisory Board at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 31.

Prince William County will give $2 million to a private daycare firm using county school buildings.

Prince William County Government, in partnership with Prince William County Schools today announced a scholarship program is available to parents or guardians have experienced job loss or work hour reduction, wage reduction, new childcare expenses because of remote learning or are teleworking without access to childcare in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.


Police were called on Monday, October 4 at 7:25 p.m. to the intersection of Beechtree Lane and Fern Place in Dale City to investigate a stabbing.

The 17-year-old male victim reported to police that he approached an unknown male juvenile and engaged in a conversation. At some point during the encounter, a verbal altercation escalated when the accused struck the victim.
