Prince William

Novant Health UVA Health System, Prince William County Public Schools, Manassas City Public Schools, and Manassas Park City Schools today announced that the health system would vaccinate employees of the three area public school districts.

Starting in February, Novant Health UVA Health System anticipates receiving a weekly allotment of 2,925 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech-COVID-19 vaccine from the Prince William Health District, based on an agreement reached on Jan. 22. This weekly allotment will supply vaccination clinics for employees of Manassas City Public Schools, Manassas Park City Schools, and any Prince William County Public Schools employees who were not vaccinated at earlier clinics.

Prince William County wants to continue leasing land for a dog park in Lake Ridge.

The Board of County Supervisors has authorized its parks department to renew a lease for K9 Gunner Memorial Park, at 13000 Minnieville Road. Opened in 2012, the lease on the Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Authority property expired on December 1.

Fredericksburg just renewed a dollar lease for a local park.

The Fredericksburg City Council has just renewed a lease agreement with the locally-based Mayfield Civic Association to keep the parcels of land that form a public park known as the W.L. Harris Playground on Dixon Street, just south of Route 3.


A major development proposed along the Occoquan River took a step closer to reality Tuesday, with the Occoquan Planning Commission voting unanimously to allow zoning exceptions for building height, residential use in a commercial zone, and a setback from the property boundary.
