Two shootings and a suspicious package at a 7-Eleven made for a busy weekend in Stafford County for the Sheriff’s Department.
At 10:15 am on Sunday, deputies were called to shots fired call at 1130 International Parkway, near 6 Bears and a Goat Brewery. Once they arrived, they found a man in his 40s with a gunshot wound, sheriff’s spokesman Shawn Kimmitz told viewers in a video posted to the department’s Facebook page.
We recently received a reader question about the differing heights of a new bridge being built, and two existing bridges that carry traffic on Interstate 95 over the Rappahannock River at Fredericksburg.
We contacted the Virginia Department of Transportation for an answer.

In the late 1990s, local rocker Eddie Anzueto broke out of his signature rock-n-roll mold and approached early hip-hop band “Salt-N-Pepa” with an idea.
He suggested to the group, known for their smash hits like “Push It” and “Whatta Man,” that they perform together on a song called “The Clock is Ticking.” The single appeared on Salt-N-Pepa’s “Brand New,” the group’s album released in 1997. It would be the group’s final studio album before the group broke up five years later.

Noise complaints from neighbors are nothing new for the Stafford Regional Airport Authority, charged with managing the airport.
However, a new age-restricted housing development, Clift Hill, will bring 142 new homes slated to be built about seven miles away from the airport. Airplanes can be noisy, and while there are no penalties for noise complaints, the authority wants the county government to notify anyone into the Clift Hill that they’re going to have to deal with aircraft noise.
