Henderson Farms will once again get their lease renewed by Stafford County in order to continue farming at Duff McDuff Green Memorial Park.
Henderson Farms, a privately-owned business from Fredericksburg, has been growing corn and soybeans on the land since before it was donated to the county in 2010 by the land’s owner Mr. Duff Green Jr. as part of an agreement before his passing in 2009.

The Jefferson Cup is one of the premier youth soccer tournaments in the country and, for the first time will hold four of its games in Stafford County during their 2020 event.
Every year about 800 boys and girls teams from around the country signed up to participate in the tourney, only 300 are selected to attend.
Joplin and Aden roads in Prince William County have new safety additions after recent re-pavements.

The Mayor, Vice-Mayor, and the other five members of the Council will receive raises to their annual salaries.
Why it matters: Town Council members had not received a raise in at least 12 years.

Stafford County will contract with the company FieldTurf to replace the synthetic turf on two athletic fields in Smith Lake Park which is located in North Stafford.
Why it matters: After 11 years of continuous use by youth and adult sports organization the turf has to be replaced.
They’ll be getting the new uniforms in 2020.
Back in January 2017, the county made an invitation to bid for the purchase and delivery of new uniforms.
Aiden Finney, 8, and Deputy Kevin Brown, a Stafford school protection officer were each awarded commendations for their actions.
There were tense moments in the school cafeteria on October 2, one of Aiden’s classmates began choking as the two were having lunch.

The projects in the school division’s capital improvement plan include a new high sixth school, a new elementary school, renovations for both Hartwood Elementary and Drew Middle schools.
Why it matters: The current CIP wishlist exceeds the county’s current level of debt affordability.
