RICHMOND – The Virginia General Assembly passed a bill to expand revenge porn laws to include realistic fake images.

In 2014, Virginia outlawed the dissemination of explicit photos or videos without the consent of the person seen in the images. The images may have been originally shared in agreement between both parties, but in cases of revenge porn, get posted online by people seeking to embarrass the victim.

RICHMOND — Interstate 81’s heart pumps through rural Virginia with veins that run from Tennessee to the Canadian border — a vital roadway for manufacturers, farmers and commuters.

With a long track record of crashes and congestion, Virginians looked to legislators for solutions to improving the interstate. But Sen. John Edwards, D-Roanoke, said the General Assembly passed only “a shell of a bill.”

WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) The Prince William SPCA is sponsoring a new program for K-12 kids who want to make a make a positive social impact on the lives of companion animals.

The program provides resources and up to $500 in funding for student-led, student-run projects that focus on cruelty prevention, pet adoptions, humane education, enrichment, behavior, nutrition and spaying/neutering.

MANASSAS – (Press Release) On March 5, 2019, the City of Manassas Fire and Rescue System will increase Advanced Life Support (ALS) service delivery to the community with Rescue Engine 521.

Rescue Engine 521, located at the Greater Manassas Volunteer Rescue Squad (GMVRS) will now be capable of providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) care.

STAFFORD – (Press Release) Multiple suspects were arrested early Sunday morning by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office following a disturbance at a local hotel.

On March 3, 2019, at approximately 1:34 a.m., 1st Sgt. Neuhard responded to reports of a fight in progress at the Clarion Inn located at 564 Warrenton Road. Upon arrival, he observed approximately one hundred people dispersing in the parking lot. He also observed Deputy Wright speaking with a male subject who was bleeding from his head.

WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release)  Murder Investigation – On March 3 at 12:39AM, officers responded to the area of Rippon Blvd. and Jefferson Davis Hwy. in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a shooting.

The investigation revealed that while in a nearby parking lot the victim and the suspect were engaged in an argument that escalated. During the encounter, a firearm was brandished and the victim was shot.
