(Press release) The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (DGIF) has confirmed Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in a male deer (buck) legally harvested in Culpeper County in November 2018.
A cooperating taxidermist submitted the sample to DGIF in late January. At the time this deer was harvested, the hunter did not notice any outward signs of disease and the buck appeared to be in good condition.

That matchup was between the Potomac Nationals (6-9) and Winston-Salem Dash (7-8), who were set to take Northwest Federal Field in Woodbridge at 7 p.m.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — (Press release) Bike to Work Day is coming up on May 17, and the event will give people the opportunity to ditch their cars for a day to celebrate biking as a clean, healthy and fun way to get around.
George Phillips, a county transportation planner who is helping coordinate Bike to Work Day in Prince William County, said the event is designed to get people thinking about alternative modes transportation. “Bike to Work is to get people to focus and look at the possibility of another way to get to work, to realize there are other options out there other than taking their cars.”
In a surprising reversal, Stafford supervisors agreed to raise the county’s real estate tax by 2 cents Tuesday night after first deciding against an increase.

MANASSAS — (Press release) Today on Good Friday, April 19, several parishes of the Catholic Diocese of Arlington will offer “Living Stations of the Cross” (or Via Crucis en Vivo).
The Living Stations consist of a visual portrayal of Jesus on the way to his crucifixion. The procession and veneration are in Spanish, English or both. All are invited.
