DALE CITY, Va. — What was power restored is now, once again, a power outage.

Dominion Virginia Power reports power outages in some areas that had been restored following Friday night’s powerful wind storm, but lights went dark again after tonight’s storms.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Six families who live in mobile homes deemed unsafe by Prince William County officials were given their walking papers today.

DALE CITY, Va. — The Annual Dale City 4th of July Parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

About 25 marching groups will join 155 floats that will parade down Dale Boulevard, from Lindendale Road to Minnieville Road.

AQUIA HARBOUR, Va. — A dog got its paw stuck in a pipe while getting a bath from its owner today. Fire and recue crews were called to help get fido’s paw free.

It happened about 10 a.m. when crews from fire station nine at Aquia Harbour in North Stafford were called to a home in the gated community.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — The Potomac Nationals have installed eight temporary phone lines for ticket sales after their phones went dark following the recent storm.

The P-Nats are set to take the field Independence Day after a long string of away games. Team spokesman Tim Swartz the best way to purchase tickets for the 6:35 p.m. Wednesday game which includes fireworks is to go online, but baseball fans can also call one of the eight temporary numbers to order tickets. Those who leave voice messages will be called back as soon as possible, said Swartz. Team officials note when their regular 703-590-2311 phone number works again the eight additional phone numbers will be disconnected.

FROM POLICE REPORTS:

Aggravated Sexual Battery – On June 29 at 3:11p.m., detectives from the Special Victims Bureau responded to investigate a sexual battery which was reported to have occurred in the 13800 block of Montoclair Ln in Dale City (22193). The investigation revealed that the victim, a 14 year old female of Woodbridge, had been sexually assaulted by the accused, a known acquaintance. Following an investigation, the accused was subsequently arrested.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — As Stafford County residents without power continue to sweat it out in this summer heat, at least now they can take a hot shower.

County officials will open a cooling shelter at 11 a.m. at Gayle Middle School. Located in the county’s expansive England Run subdivision, the shelter will offer shower facilities where residents can bring their own toiletries and clean up until 7 p.m.
