WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Police in Prince William County are taking on new gear that will help them respond to acts of terrorism and major disasters.

Through a grant from The Department of Homeland Security, the police department will accept $212,600 in new tactical equipment. Police officials said they will not disclose what items they will get citing security concerns.

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — Sen. Mark Warner will visit Stafford County on Friday to talk business.

During a trip through the region, Warner will stop for a roundtable discussion at Gari Melcher’s Home and Studio in Falmouth between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Friday.

Reckless Endangerment of a Child – On September 11th at 1:59PM, police responded to the 14900 block of Abilene Way in Woodbridge (22193) for a joint investigation with Child Protective Services based on information that a large number of children were being watched at a residence with limited supervision.

DUMFRIES, Va. — Few, if any person Monday night spoke in favor of a plan to allow a landfill to rise 115 feet higher than currently permitted by the state.

A handful of residents spoke out on a plan from Potomac Landfill owners which would allow them to pile construction waste in piles of 310 feet tall on thier 39 acres of land. Emails submitted by residents opposing the plan were also read aloud by Mayor Gerald Foreman.
