On the evening of June 19, Prince William police responded to the Home Depot location at Foulgers Square in Woodbridge to investigate a fight.

According to Prince William police, the victim – a 54-year old man – stated that the individual – 32-year old Woodbridge man Shazad Haq – began running towards the loading dock at the Home Depot in an aggressive way.

The fire ignited prior to the severe thunderstorm that rolled through the area. The call for help went about about 6:20 p.m., said OWL VFD spokeswoman Rebecca Barnes.

More than fifty people attended the “Make Georgetown Village Beautiful Day” in the Georgetown Village neighborhood on Saturday, June 6.

Georgetown Village is a 267-home community along Route 1 in Woodbridge. The annual cleanup is put on by the Georgetown Village Community Council, Inc. (GVCCI) and the community’s property management company, Community Management Services (CMS). Habitat for Humanity Prince William County has supported the event for two years, leading Bank of America volunteers and neighborhood residents to accomplish a list of
beautification tasks needed in the community’s public spaces as part of its Neighborhood Revitalization program.

According to Prince William police, the victim – a 73-year old Woodbridge woman – stated that she was cleaning out her vehicle in the CVS parking lot, when she was approached by an unknown individual.
