FREDERICKSBURG — Interstate 95 southbound and Route 17 travelers can expect delays near Exit 133 in Stafford County on the evenings of June 3 to 6 and June 10 to 16. During these times, crews will be lifting concrete beams into place for new I-95 overpasses.
In order to safely move the beams into place over travel lanes, there will be overnight lane closures and brief traffic stops on Route 17 and several I-95 ramps.
DUMFRIES — Town leaders in Dumfries created a new pot of money for non-profit organizations.
For the fiscal year 2020, Dumfries adopted a budget which includes $25,000 for a Community Partner Grant Program, for which the Town is now accepting applications.
STAFFORD — Thomas “Tom” Coen has announced that he is pursuing re-election to the Board of County Supervisors.
Coen, who once worked as a Stafford County high school civics teacher, was unanimously appointed to the Board of Supervisors in Jan. 2018 to replace George Washington District Supervisor turned Virginia State delegate Bob Thomas.
WOODBRIDGE – On Saturday, June 8, Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA, 11 Fairfax, Prince William), Chairman of the House subcommittee on Government Operations, will host a community town hall on the ongoing opioid epidemic.
The meeting is in Ferlazzo County Government Building at 15941 Donald Curtis Dr., Woodbridge, (22192) and will begin at 11 a.m.
ARLINGTON — The slip-ramp connecting HOV lanes to regular lanes on I-395 South near the Pentagon will close permanently around June 1, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).
Drivers wanting to access the southbound regular lanes from the southbound HOV lanes on this stretch of I-395 will need to use the slip-ramp located north of the Pentagon, near Boundary Channel Drive after crossing the 14th Street Bridge from D.C. into Virginia.
STAFFORD — (Press Release) The Rappahannock Regional Landfill is suspending charges for storm debris through June 9 to aid residents who are cleaning up after the storm on May 25.
Residents of Stafford and Fredericksburg are asked to bring their storm debris to the landfill on Eskimo Hill Road, where they are better equipped to manage this material. This does not apply to commercial companies or loads.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Chinn Park Regional Library is hosting a free adult program, “Totally 80s – A Murder Mystery Evening,” on Thursday, June 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

You’ll participate with other patrons to figure out who committed the murder, but – keep your eyes open and remain vigilant – everyone is a suspect.
STAFFORD — (Press Release) There are several easy ways to pay Stafford County Real Estate and Personal Property taxes for the first half of 2019, including through the myStafford portal.
The Stafford Treasurer’s Office encourages citizens to pay by the due date of Wednesday, June 5 to avoid additional penalties. As always, citizens are welcome to call the Treasurer’s Office with concerns or questions.
