Voter supports Townsend, Bailey

Letter to the editor

We citizens of the Potomac Magisterial District and the 31st House of Delegates District need effective representation.

The election of Andrea Bailey to the Potomac District seat on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors and Sara Townsend to the 31st Virginia House of Delegates District seat in the Virginia General Assembly on November 3 will meet this need.

Regretfully, we currently see a lack of vision, focus, and energy on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors and reactionary ideology in the Virginia House of Delegates. At the county level Andrea Bailey will concentrate on the issues that matter: economic development, transportation improvements, better schools, and alleviating homelessness.

Andrea Bailey will work to attract business with high quality jobs to Prince William. Andrea Bailey will work for both better roads and mass transit including Metro rail to Prince William. Andrea Bailey will work for reduced class sizes and for better teacher pay in Prince William.

Andrea Bailey will work to reduce homeliness and believes that society must demonstrate compassion for the less fortunate. Andrea Bailey understands that these issues are interactive and the associated problems cannot be solved if addressed separately.

At the state level Sara Townsend will concentrate on the issues that matter: education, transportation, veterans, economy/small businesses, and the environment. Sara Townsend is a former teacher who understands the need for adequate funding and reasonable levels of testing. Sara Townsend understands the transportation problems in Northern Virginia and throughout the state and will provide the correct focus in the General Assembly.

Sara Townsend believes that veterans deserve respect with proper medical care, support, and employment opportunities. Sara Townsend understands that quality education and transportation increase the likelihood of businesses locating locally and will work to reduce red tape for small businesses.

Sara Townsend will work to protect the environment especially our waterways. Sara Townsend understands what must be accomplished at the state level to move Virginia forward. Both Andrea Bailey and Sara Townsend have the knowledge, enthusiasm, energy, focus, compassion, and commitment to effectively represent us and to help solve the multiple issues facing our districts. Please elect them both on November 3.
