Updated: Charges Filed in Pedestrian Hit and Run on Vint Hill Road

Police have arrested a Gainesville man in connection to a fatal hit and run incident on Vint Hill Road early Monday. 

Here’s the latest in a police report:

Fatal Hit & Run Crash *ARREST – On August 4th, investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit received information about a possible suspect vehicle involved in the fatal hit & run crash which was reported to have occurred in the area of Vint Hill Rd and Broadlands Rd in Nokesville earlier that morning. Investigators located the vehicle, a 2001 Oldsmobile Bravada, parked in the 15600 block of Vint Hill Rd, approximately 3 miles from the crash location. The vehicle showed signs of being involved in a crash. Investigators determined that this was the striking vehicle involved in the incident. Furthermore, the driver at the time of the collision was identified as the accused, Allen NOCK of Gainesville. Following the investigation, the accused was arrested. Speed does not appear to be a factor in this crash. The investigation continues.

Allan Gordon NOCK, 29, of 15603 Vint Hill Rd in Gainesville

Charged with hit & run resulting in injury or death

Court date: September 19, 2014 | Bond: $25,000 secured

Identified:

The victim was identified as Ross Damon ADAMS, 36, of no fixed address

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – One person is dead after a hit and run crash this morning.

Police said a pedestrian was walking in the area of Vint Hill and Broadlands roads just before 3 a.m. when he was struck by a car. The driver fled the scene.

Here’s the latest in a press release from police posted this morning:

*INCIDENT: Nokesville | Vint Hill Rd near Broadlands Rd. Fatal Hit & Run Pedestrian Crash Investigation;

Police received a call in reference to an unconscious person near the above area around 2:49AM. Officers arrived and located an adult male who is believed to have been struck by a vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Through the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the male was walking along the roadway when he was struck and the driver fled. The vehicle was possibly headed west on Vint Hill Rd towards Fauquier County and should have extensive front end damage, possibly to the front passenger side. Vint Hill Rd is expected to reopen within the hour.
