Sedan Collides with Box Truck on Hornbaker Road

MANASSAS, Va. — A box truck clobbered a sedan on Hornbaker Road this afternoon outside Manassas.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Industrial Drive near the FBI Northern Virginia Headquarters. A Chevrolet sedan collided head on with a box truck causing the front of the car to crumble.

Following the crash that occurred about 4:15 p.m. the female driver of the car stood near the wreckage with her face bruised and bloodied and said she hit her head. A man that stood with her said the driver was on her way to pick him up from work and that we wasn’t in the car when it collided with the truck. He was searching the driver’s purse for an insurance card, he told police on the scene.

The two occupants of the box truck said they were inside the truck when it crashed, added they were OK, but said little else.

Fire and rescue units called to the scene were quickly returned to duty while police and crash investigators stayed behind.

The area where the crash occurred is under construction. Hornbaker Road is being widened to four lanes in this area. Orange cones warning drivers of construction can be seen from the area of University Boulevard to Va. 28, near the area where the crash occurred.

It’s unclear at this time if charges will be filed in the crash.
