Ruth Ann Morrison, 59, of Stafford, passed away Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013.
Morrison was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. M.V. Morrison and Monna Howell Morrison.
She earned a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and a master’s from the University of Virginia. Morrison had worked at the Central Shenandoah Planning District Commission in Staunton and later at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C.
Morrison was an active member of the Aquia Evening Lions Club in Stafford. After joining in 2004, she served as club secretary in 2005-06, vice president in 2006-07 and president in 2007-08. Additionally, she served on the district cabinet of the Lions Club of Virginia.
Morrison’s health had been affected by a stroke she suffered in 2011.
