Quantico’s 66th Annual Christmas Parade is Sunday

QUANTICO, Va. — Santa is coming to town! Both the Town of Quantico and Marine Corps Base Quantico will host holiday events Sunday geared to get the community in the holiday spirit and Santa will make special guest appearances at each.

At 1 p.m. the Town will host its 66th Annual Christmas Parade with participants ranging from the Quantico Marine Band and Color Guard to the Shriners and the MCB Quantico Fire Department. In addition to Santa, another distinguished participant is grand marshal, Col. David Maxwell, base commander.

Spectators can line up on Potomac Avenue from C Street to Summer Avenue to catch the show.

Following the parade, the MCB Quantico Base Commander’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 4 p.m. in front of Lejeune Hall. There will be several activities for families. Beginning at 5 p.m., the Quantico Marine Band will provide musical support and conduct a sing along. MCCS and the USO will provide refreshments.

The holiday tree will be lit at 6 p.m.
