Storms Could Dampen Afternoon

It looks like the skies could demand our attention this afternoon.

Strong thunderstorms could develop between 2 and 7 p.m. today bringing strong and gusty winds, large hail and heavy downpours, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm watch comes as warmer air aims to creep into the region after two nights of cooler, more seasonable temperatures. Forecasted temperatures today are expected to reach nearly 80 degrees and then drop tonight into the low 50s, according to the weather service.

High temperatures are expected to hold steady in the mid-60s with sunny skies for the remainder of the week and into the weekend. It’ll be a bit warmer on Sunday with high temperatures expected to be in the 70s.
