QUANTICO, Va. — Springs sports are underway aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico and varsity softball players are asked to come out to join a team. Diane Rooks, president of the Woodbridge women’s varsity softball league, is recruiting for the league.
No matter the level of experience, Rooks is encouraging ladies 18 years and older on the installation to come to a softball practice on Freeney Field every Tuesday and Thursday.
The opportunity is open to active duty service members, dependents and Department of Defense civilians aboard the base. “If you enjoy the game of softball then come on out and have some fun us,” said Rooks.
