Crime Watch: Charges Filed in Pill Theft, Churches Burglarized

Charges filed after pills taken
A Dumfries man has been charged in connection to a robbery at a CVS Pharmacy in Dumfries.

A man walked into the pharmacy in the 13600 block of block of Jefferson Davis Highway in Woodbridge on Dec. 17, implied he had a gun, and then demanded several medications. The man got away with about 1,000 pills, including Percocet and Dilaudid, valued at $5,400, said Prince William police.

James Ronald Bradford, Jr., of Melting Snow Place in Dumfries, is charged with armed robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of schedule I and II narcotics, said police.

He was arrested at his home without incident, police said.

Third church burglarized
Another burglary at a church in Stafford County was discovered when deputies on Tuesday morning were called to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church on Embrey Mill Road.

The church appears to have been broken into between 2 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. A interior door was broken and a safe full of of gift cards was stolen, said Stafford sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.

It is the third burglary of a church in Stafford County since January 3.

-An air conditioning unit was stolen from Renegade Drive, and an air handling unit stolen from Rouge Drive in Stafford County between 3 p.m. Friday and early Saturday morning.

-A home on Delmar Lane in Stafford County was broken into between Jan. 3 and Saturday. Copper piping and an air conditioner was stolen, and a basement door was damaged.
