Hospital officials in Woodbridge cut the ribbon on the Sentara Foot and Ankle Center.
- The center is located inside Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.
- It’s a comprehensive approach to treatment that includes podiatry, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, and treatment for sports injuries and diabetic reconstruction.
The center offers a new minimally-invasive called Subchondroplasty, which uses stem cells and liquid bone material to fill internal fractures and lesions
- The procedure allows for a shorter recovery which means less pain, fewer follow up appointments and less time away from work.
Procedures large and small will be handled under the new umbrella of care the center provides.
“Folks with diabetes have the risk of developing infections, and it’s much easier to cure something early than to wait until later,” said Dr. Vincent Bonini, director of the new Foot and Ankle Center.
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is located at 2300 Opitz Boulevard in Woodbridge.
