Man Convicted in Stafford Fire

Stafford, Va — A man from Manassas charged in a fire in North Stafford was convicted Wednesday.

Kevin Jack Johnson, 40, was charged in connection to a June 19 fire at Russell’s Automotive at 3799 Jefferson Davis Highway, near Quantico Corporate Center.

After fire crews doused the blaze, officials obtained information leading to the arrest of Johnson, charging him with burglary and arson of an unoccupied building, said Stafford fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.

Johnson faces 20 years in prison is and should be sentenced in December.

According to court records, Johnson was found guilty of destruction of property stemming from a separate incident in Oct. 2010.
