
A 68-year-old man was killed early Wednesday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Woodbridge. Police say the man, later identified as Shedrick Eugene Gibson, was found lying in the road around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Cardinal and Donald Curtis drives.
Officers performed CPR before Gibson was taken to a hospital, where he died. Investigators believe he was crossing Cardinal Drive outside of a crosswalk and wearing dark clothing when he was hit. The vehicle that struck him did not stay at the scene, and police currently have no description.
Anyone who may have seen the crash is urged to contact Prince William County Police.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On December 11 at 6:09AM, officers responded to the area of Cardinal Dr and Donald Curtis Dr in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a pedestrian hit & run crash. The investigation revealed multiple callers had contacted emergency services to report a 68-year-old man lying in the roadway, appearing to have been struck by a vehicle. Officers arrived and began performing CPR until the man was transported to an area hospital where he later died. The deceased was believed to have been crossing Cardinal Dr headed north outside of a crosswalk and wearing all dark-colored clothing when he was struck. The striking vehicle did not remain on scene and there is currently no description. Crash investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police.
