
A person died after experiencing a medical emergency following an arrest outside a Petco store in Manassas.
On Thursday, November 27, at about 5:24 p.m., police responded to a report of an intoxicated person at 10055 Wellington Road. Officers found the person alert and conscious. During their investigation, they discovered the individual had an active warrant and arrested them without incident.
After being taken to the Prince William County Adult Detention Center, the person suffered a medical emergency. Rescue personnel transported them to a nearby hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
Police have not released the individual’s name — or stated whether it was a man or woman — pending notification of next of kin. The cause and manner of death remain under investigation by the Prince William County Police Department.
