A high-speed crash early Tuesday morning claimed the life of a 34-year-old Manassas Park man and his small dog after his car collided with a pickup truck near Manassas.
Prince William police say the man was speeding north on Old Centreville Road around 6:18 a.m., attempting to pass vehicles near Parkland Street, when his 2004 Honda Accord crossed into the opposite lane and struck a 2021 Ford F-150. The driver and a Yorkie inside the Honda were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ford’s driver, a 65-year-old man from Broad Run, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Investigators are asking witnesses to come forward.

Fatal Crash Investigation – On November 19 at 6:18AM, officers responded to the area of Old Centreville Rd & Parkland St in Manassas (20111) to investigate a crash. The investigation revealed the driver of a 2004 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Old Centreville Rd at a high rate of speed, attempting to pass other vehicles. At one point, the vehicle entered a turn in the above area in the opposite lane of travel and struck a 2021 Ford F150 that was traveling southbound on Old Centreville Rd. The driver of the Honda, identified as a 34-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene along with a Yorkie that was located inside the vehicle. The driver of the Ford, a 65-year-old man, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. Crash investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed this crash to contact police.
