
A 58-year-old man from Stafford was arrested and charged with grand larceny after he was caught stealing an electric shopping cart from Walmart. The suspect, identified by surveillance footage, admitted to taking the cart, which was found charging at a nearby home.
In another incident, a vehicle was reported stolen from a parking lot on River Crest Way. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to identify the suspect responsible for the theft.
Additionally, a resident on Town Square Circle discovered their vehicle had been broken into, with several items reported missing. Meanwhile, exterior windows were stolen from a property on Hillsdale Drive.
In a separate case, a fraud attempt was reported at the Public Safety Building. The victim received a call from someone impersonating a Sheriff’s Office representative, claiming there was a federal warrant against them. The caller attempted to extort money, but the Sheriff’s Office confirmed it was a scam.

LARCENY
Town Square Circle, 11/10 1:24 p.m. Deputy N. D. Fonseca responded for a past occurred larceny. The victim advised that a couple of days ago, he exited his residence to find the passenger’s side door open to his vehicle. The victim advised that there were several items stolen from within the vehicle.
Walmart, 11 Village Parkway, 11/10 2:33 p.m. Deputy M. N. Sayegh responded to the business for a larceny report. The business advised that a male rode off with one of their electric shopping carts. Based on surveillance video, Deputy Sayegh was able to identify the subject and knew he lived nearby. Deputy Sayegh went to the subject’s address and made contact with him. The suspect admitted to taking the cart and the cart was found charging at an adjacent residence. The subject was identified as Kenneth Limerick Sr., 58, of Stafford. Limerick was charged with grand larceny and held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail under no bond.
Hillsdale Drive, 11/11 1:20 p.m. Deputy K. C. Rigby responded to a larceny call. The victim advised that an unknown person stole exterior windows from the property.
River Crest Way 11/11 2:34 a.m. Deputy C. R. Newman responded to a motor vehicle theft report. The victim reported that an unknown individual had stolen their vehicle. The last time the vehicle was seen was in the parking lot of the complex. The investigation is active.FRAUD
Public Safety Building, 1225 Courthouse Road, 11/10 10:57 a.m. Deputy N. D. Fonseca handled a fraud complaint. The victim advised that they received a call from someone claiming to be with the Sheriff’s Office. The subject told the victim that they had a federal warrant for not going to court. The subject stated that the victim could pay money to avoid jail time.
The Sheriff’s Office will never call you and request money to avoid jail time. You cannot pay your way out of a warrant.
