Spotsylvania Man Charged on Multiple Child Exploitation, Obscenity Charges

“After conducting an investigation, obtaining search warrants, and reviewing the items that the reporting party submitted, Jason Zirkle II was arrested on 10 counts of 18.2-361.01 B(v) Sexual abuse of animals… and one count of 18.2-374.3 Section C(iii) Use of communications systems to facilitate certain offenses involving children,” the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies responded November 3 to a report of an adult male meeting with an underage female. The investigation was conducted by the department’s Child Victim’s Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, which is part of the NOVA-DC ICAC Taskforce. The sheriff’s office emphasized its collaboration with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to prevent child exploitation and urged anyone with concerns about abuse to contact local authorities or NCMEC.
