Malicious Wounding Arrest in Manassas
On March 14, authorities arrested Eric Yovany MELARA, 34, in connection to a brutal assault that took place on November 28, 2024, outside Columbus Grill in Manassas. The victim, a 27-year-old man, was repeatedly struck and kicked before the suspects fled. The first suspect, Christopher Osbaldo AGUIRRE-ARGUETA, was previously apprehended in January.
Commercial Burglary at Jersey Mike’s
On March 12, a burglary occurred at Jersey Mike’s in Woodbridge around 10:15 PM. The suspect, identified as Tyjaun Cattrell SMITH, 19, entered through an unlocked rear door and stole money from the cash register. He remains at large.
Abduction Incident in Manassas
On March 16, officers arrested Andrew Carter WRIGHT, 29, after he allegedly prevented a 25-year-old woman from leaving a residence on Portsmouth Rd. The verbal dispute escalated before authorities intervened.
Child Neglect Case in Bristow
Authorities charged Shelton XIR, 31, and Erick XIR, 33, with contributing to the delinquency of a minor after their 12-year-old son was left unsupervised from February 27 to March 3. The child was placed in Child Protective Services custody.
Stafford County
Multiple DUI Arrests Reported
Hope Road (March 16, 1:56 AM): A driver crashed into a mailbox and fled the scene. Found intoxicated nearby, she admitted to drinking a
Long Island Iced Tea. This was her second DUI offense within five years.
Richmond Highway (March 16, 2:53 AM): A driver was stopped for reckless speeding and swerving. He admitted to drinking tequila and was arrested for DUI and driving without a license.
Mine Road (March 16, 3:41 AM): A Dodge struck a fire hydrant. The driver, intoxicated and admitting to drinking tequila, was taken into custody.
Flippo Road (March 16, 3:46 PM): A driver crashed into a ditch and asked bystanders to hide her alcohol before police arrived. She was arrested for DUI.
Disorderly Conduct at Dollar General
On March 17, a woman threatened store employees, claiming she had a firearm. Deputies found no weapon, but a warrant was issued for disorderly conduct.
Larceny at Bitez
On March 16, a suspect stole a 12-pack of Twisted Tea from Bitez on Warrenton Road. Hours later, he returned and stole two more packs.
Public Intoxication & Vandalism
Holly Corner Road (March 17): A heavily intoxicated individual was arrested for disturbing the peace.
Staffordboro Commuter Lot (March 16): A vandal poured laundry detergent into a vehicle’s gas tank, causing significant damage. The suspect remains unidentified.
