Burglary in Gainesville Neighborhood

Stafford County:

Snake Stabber Stopped

A pet snake suffered life-threatening injuries after a breaking and entering on Lakeview Drive.

On March 12 at 11 a.m., Stafford deputies responded to a reported burglary in progress. A female suspect was inside the residence armed with scissors and knives. Deputies C.S. Harding and J.L. Jones arrived swiftly and detained Nina Zarin, 21, of Fredericksburg.

During a search, deputies found suspected controlled substances in Zarin’s possession. Further investigation revealed that she unlawfully entered the residence intending to harm a pet snake. While two snakes were unharmed, a four-year-old banana ball python suffered multiple stab wounds, with a knife still lodged in its body.

Animal Control Officer O.J. Martins transported the injured reptile to White Oak Animal Hospital, where veterinarians performed emergency surgery. The snake was returned to its owner and is expected to recover.

Zarin was charged with felony breaking and entering, felony animal cruelty, and possession of controlled substances. She is being held without bond at Rappahannock Regional Jail.

It’s Not Delivery, It’s Di-Fraud

A wanted Stafford man was caught red-handed—and red-sauced—after an alleged pizza fraud scheme.

On March 13 at approximately 8:38 p.m., Deputy B.E. Vaughn responded to a fraud report. The victim reported that his wallet had gone missing the previous day, and now someone was using his credit cards. Upon reviewing the transactions, Deputy Vaughn noticed an unusual trend—numerous Domino’s Pizza orders.

Deputy Vaughn contacted Domino’s security team, who helped track the delivery address for the fraudulent purchases. When the deputy arrived at the suspect’s residence on Oak Drive, he spotted a trash bag filled with empty Domino’s pizza boxes on the porch.

Further investigation led to the suspect’s arrest, though authorities have not yet released his name. The suspect, already wanted for previous offenses, was taken into custody. Charges are pending as the investigation continues.

Two Arrested for Assault at Staybridge Suites

Deputies responded to Staybridge Suites on Richmond Highway at 1:39 a.m. on March 12 for an assault. A dispute over taking out the trash led to two individuals attacking the victim. The male suspect, identified by his “Parental Advisory” hoodie, was found across the street and arrested. Both suspects were charged with assault and battery, as well as assault by mob. The male remains in jail on a $1,000 secured bond, while the female was released on personal recognizance.

Tequila Thief Strikes Again at ABC Store

At 2:25 p.m. on March 12, a known shoplifter struck the ABC store on Publix Way, stuffing an expensive bottle of tequila into his pants before walking out without paying. Surveillance footage confirmed the theft, and authorities are investigating further.

Wanted Man Arrested After Standoff at Sleep Inn

Deputies received a tip about a wanted suspect staying at the Sleep Inn on Warrenton Road. When approached at 12:02 p.m. on March 12, the suspect locked himself inside his room, initially refusing to comply. After some time, he surrendered and was arrested for his outstanding warrant and charged with obstruction of justice. He remains held without bond.

Inspired by local physicians who were among the nation’s first to adopt the concierge medicine model, Northern Virginia is now a hub for its surging popularity. These leading physicians are redefining the patient experience with same-day appointments, direct availability, unhurried visits, and deeply personalized care:

After almost 40 years in practice, Manassas-based Internist John Cary, MD’s change to concierge medicine enabled focused attention for each individual, and the launch of his innovative diet program for those with type 2 diabetes. “The goal is to promote enough weight loss to reach an acceptable A1C of 6% with no medication,” he explains. “Achieving that can take several months of very close follow up. As I tell my patients, we are in this together.”

Jay Tyroler, MD considers his patients quite literally as family. “I believe there’s nothing more honorable than helping patients when they’re sick, or scared, or feeling vulnerable, and I care for them exactly as I would my loved ones.” Whether for a specialist referral, urgent health issue or ongoing follow up, “My patients know I’m always just a phone call away.”
