A fatal crash occurred on February 25 at 2:33 p.m. on Pageland Lane near Livia Drive. Crash investigators responded to the scene to examine the incident.
According to the investigation, the driver of a 2014 Nissan Versa was traveling southbound on Pageland Lane at a speed above the posted limit. The vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a 2020 Mercedes Benz GLC 300 traveling in the opposite direction.
Following the impact, the Mercedes left the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. The driver of the Nissan was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Emergency responders transported him to an area hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Mercedes was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities identified the deceased driver of the Nissan as Nathaniel Marcelo Delgado, 24, of Bristow. The driver of the Mercedes was identified as a 47-year-old woman from Chantilly.
The investigation is ongoing.
