Federal Government Status

As winter weather conditions are expected to impact the region, several government offices, school systems, and institutions have announced closures and delays for Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Below is a list of confirmed updates:
Government Closures and Delays
Prince William County Government
- Due to the impacts of weather conditions, Prince William County government offices and facilities will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
- Please visit https://pwcva.gov/emergency for the latest updates.
Prince William County Parks
- Wednesday, February 12: Due to the impacts of weather conditions, ALL Prince William County Parks & Recreation facilities and parks will remain CLOSED.
Manassas Park Community Center
- MPCC will open at 12PM on Wednesday, February 12, due to hazardous weather conditions.
- Preschool, Extended Care, and Kids Korner are CANCELED tomorrow.
- We will continue to monitor weather conditions and may reassess if necessary.
Manassas Park City
- UPDATE (2/11/2025, 7:45 PM): City facilities will have a DELAYED OPENING at Noon on Wednesday, February 12.
- City leadership will reassess road conditions in the morning and may elect to remain closed. Please check back for updates.
Quantico Marine Corps Base
- For Wednesday, February 12: Marine Corps Base Quantico’s Operating Status is Code Red.
- Conditions are severe, and the Base is closed for normal operation.
- Only Mission Essential personnel are expected to report to work.
Fort Belvoir
- Due to inclement weather, Fort Belvoir Garrison offices will be closed.
- Employees have the option of unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework as approved by their supervisor. This applies to Garrison employees only.
- Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center will be operating under a two-hour delay.
- Lieber and Tulley gates will operate normally, while Kingman gate will be closed.
Fredericksburg City Government
- City government offices will open on a THREE-hour delay on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
- General District Court and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts will be closed.
- Parks, Recreation, and Events activities are canceled.
- Trash and Recycling will be delayed until Thursday, causing subsequent days’ collections to be pushed forward by one day.
- Fredericksburg Regional Transit will not operate VF1, its VRE feeder bus service.
Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center
- Wednesday, February 12 – The facility will tentatively operate on a delayed opening of 10:00 AM.
- All morning group exercise classes are cancelled.
- Please continue to monitor our website and social media for updates prior to traveling to the facility.
Workhouse Arts Center
- Due to inclement weather, the Workhouse Arts Center will be closed tomorrow, February 12, 2025.
Central Rappahannock Regional Library
- All Central Rappahannock Regional Library locations will be closed Wednesday, February 12, due to the winter storm.
Prince William County Courts
- Judicial Center Status – 02-12-2025
- Circuit Court Status: Closed
- General District Court Status: Closed
- Juvenile District Court Status: Closed
- The Prince William County Judicial Center/Courts are CLOSED on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Stafford County Government — Updated 8 a.m.Â
- Stafford County Government offices will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
- All courts are closed.
- R-Board (landfill) will open at 10 am.
Prince William County Health District
- On Wednesday, February 12, 2025, Prince William Health District offices and clinics will be closed due to inclement weather conditions.

- All Prince William County Public Schools and offices will be closed Code Red on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
- This closure is due to expected inclement weather conditions affecting roads and parking lots.
Stafford County
- Stafford County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
- All school activities and events scheduled for Wednesday are cancelled.

Manassas City Public Schools
- Manassas City Schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, due to inclement weather.
- Employees will follow Code BLUE procedures.
Spotsylvania County Public Schools
- All Spotsylvania County Public Schools campuses and offices will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
- All school-sponsored activities, including student externships, are cancelled.
- School employees: Code 1 – essential personnel must report to perform emergency services as necessary.
Fredericksburg City Public Schools
- All Fredericksburg City Public School buildings will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
- Essential personnel should contact their supervisor regarding report times.
King George County Public Schools
- King George County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, due to inclement weather.
- Code 3 for 12-month employees, with a report time of 10 a.m.
Higher Education Closures
University of Mary Washington (UMW)
- All UMW campuses (Fredericksburg, Stafford, Dahlgren) will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
- All classes are canceled.
Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA)
- CODE RED – All NOVA campuses will be closed on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
