The Stafford County Board of Supervisors denied a rezoning that would have allowed the Lidl supermarket chain to open a new store in North Stafford.
The board held a public hearing on June 7 that resulted in the denial of the permit, which, if it had been approved, would have rezoned about an acre from residential to urban commercial zoning. An additional 1.37 acres adjacent to the plot would also have been amended with conditional proffers, which included building a new sidewalk along Greenspring Drive.
