In celebration of Earth Day, 100 trees will be planted in Manassas
This donation comes from SWIFT, a provider of secure financial messaging services. These trees will be given to four city parks and three Manassas City public schools.
Baldwin Elementary and Metz Middle schools will each receive 10 trees while Weems Elementary School will receive 28 trees.
Liberia House Park will receive 30 trees, while Mayfield Earthwork Fort will get 10, Winterset Park will get seven, and Calvary Run Park will get five trees.
In addition to this donation, SWIFT will adopt Calvary Run Park, 9201 Ashton Avenue. A ceremony recognizing this adoption and donation was scheduled for April 22, 2020, but will be rescheduled due to Coronavirus.
“Our donation of 100 trees is a token of appreciation for the strong partnership we have had with the City and a reflection of our commitment to the community. We look forward to continued projects that directly better the environment and communities we serve,” said Craig Young, SWIFT Chief Information Officer in a press release.
