Pileup closes portion of I-95 Tuesday afternoon

All lanes of Interstate 95 in Stafford are open once again.

A crash involving multiple cars closed the southbound portion of the highway at Centreport Parkway, milepost 136, near the Stafford Regional Airport at 4:20 p.m.

Virginia State Police Sgt. Brent Coffey tells Potomac Local News there were multiple injuries, however, none were life-threatening.

We don’t yet have details about the number of cars, or the number of people involved in the pileup. Additionally, no word on any charges filed in the crash.

The portion of I-95 that had been closed was reported to be reopened at 7:25 p.m., according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
