Ralph J. Smith now a permanent fixture on the Manassas City Council

He was appointed to the council earlier this year after Councilman Ken Elston resigned, opting to move to North Carolina for a new job.

  • It was a temporary appointment.
  • Today, however, Smith, a Democrat beat his Republican challenger and political newcomer Lynn Forkell Greene.
  • Here are the results.

There was also an open seat on the city’s School Board won tonight by Democrat Lisa Anne Stevens.

  • Stevens takes the seat from incumbent Peter O’Hanlon.
  • Here are the race results.
