Power line removal to prompt I-95 closures

DUMFRIES — Rolling road closures on Interstate 95 will slow traffic.

Crews will close a portion of the highway Sunday from sunrise until 11 a.m. 10 o’clock in the morning to remove old powerlines that hang over the road.

Traffic traveling on both sides of the highway between Dale Boulevard and Route 234 will be affected, according to a Dominion Energy spokesman.

The powerlines are strung across the road near the truck rest top near Dumfries. The new lines have already been hoisted into place.
