* Portions of Maryland, The District of Columbia, Virginia, and panhandle West Virginia, including the following areas, in Maryland, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Central and Southeast Howard,Central and Southeast Montgomery, Charles, Frederick MD, Northern Baltimore, Northwest Harford, Northwest Howard,Northwest Montgomery, Prince Georges, Southeast Harford, Southern Baltimore, and Washington. The District of Columbia.
In Virginia, Arlington/Falls Church/Alexandria, Clarke, Eastern Loudoun, Fairfax, Northern Fauquier, Prince William/Manassas/Manassas Park, Southern Fauquier, Stafford, and Western Loudoun.
In panhandle West Virginia, Berkeley and Jefferson.
* From Friday afternoon through late Friday night
* Showers and thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected to overspread the region by Friday afternoon and continue through Friday evening before departing late Friday night. Repetitive storms and multiple rounds of heavy rain may result in rainfall amounts which could exceed 3 inches locally. Flash flooding is possible, particularly in urban areas.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

A chance of showers before 11 am, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm between 11 am and 2 pm, then showers and thunderstorms after 2 pm. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. High near 77. South wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Showers and thunderstorms before 2 am then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 2 am and 5 am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 am. Some of the storms could produce gusty winds and heavy rain. Low around 61. South wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
