NORTH STAFFORD — There is very little left of a house on Moss Drive.
Fire and rescue crews were called at 11:43 p.m. to the house at 15 Moss Drive in North Stafford’s Vista Woods neighborhood.
A fire ripped through the house, forcing the two adults who were inside the one-and-a-half story home to flee from an open window, said Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department Chief Joseph Cardello.
The occupants of the home escaped without injury and called 911. A neighbor also called to alert officials of the fire.
Fire crews from Stafford and Prince William counties, and Quantico Marine Corps Base were called to fight the blaze. By the time the first crews arrived on the scene, the house was fully involved, said Cardello.
The homeowner told fire investigators that he heard a popping sound on his front porch and then saw flames, said Cardello. Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
Earlier in the day, Stafford fire crews also worked a major fire on Meadow Drive, just off Town and Country Drive in Ferry Farm.
