Six students from the Chick-fil-A Leadership Project visited an area nursing home this month to bring some holiday cheer.
In a partnership with Chick-fil-A Bristow and Youth for Tomorrow, students have monthly leadership projects within this program. December’s was “Do Good December.”
“This project provides for us a template of activities to use with our students to keep them active and involved within the community,” said Vernell Wilks, a mentor at Youth for Tomorrow.
The students visit the Manassas area nursing home twice a year. Some students volunteer there on a weekly basis.
There are 43 students in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Project, all from Youth for Tomorrow. The students come to live at Youth for Tomorrow for a variety of reasons to include neglect, abuse, trafficking, abandonment, homelessness.
“It is our commitment to provide for these youth a safe environment complete with treatment, therapy, education, and a warm family environment,” Wilks adds.
