DALE CITY — (Press Release) On November 21 at 8:08 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 3300 block of Labourn Drive in Dale City to investigate a shooting.
The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused, who are husband and wife, were inside their home in the above area when they became involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.
During the encounter, a firearm was brandished and the victim was shot. When officers arrived at the home, they located the accused near the front entrance of the home where she was subsequently detained without further incident.
When officers checked the residence, they located the victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The firearm was recovered. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Rene Rachelle DRAKE, was arrested.
