OCCOQUAN — The town of Occoquan will hold its annual open house for the 43rd time.
The event draws hundreds to the tiny town and culminates with the lighting of the town Christmas Tree outside the town hall.
The event takes place Friday, Nov. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. Organizers described the event as an evening of Holiday festivities in Occoquan, shopping, dining and holiday gift certificates give away.
Visitors to Occoquan can register to share in over $1000 in Occoquan Merchant Gift Certificates. Look for participating businesses flying gold, white and green balloons to pick up an entry form.
Then they can come to the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at Occoquan Town Hall at 8 p.m. followed by the contest drawings at 8:15 p.m. Winners must be present to win.
Santa will be strolling the streets and the Bull Run
Troubadours will sing carols throughout town.
Many businesses will offer evening specials and refreshments.
This event is free to the public and is sponsored by the Occoquan Merchants Guild.
The town is located off Interstate 95 exit 160 in eastern Prince William County.
