Pedestrian clad in black struck, killed in Stafford

STAFFORD — (Press Release) Virginia State Police Master Trooper R. Pinkard Jr. is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Stafford County. The crash occurred Oct. 31, 2018, at 5:10 a.m. in the 2700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway/Route 1.

 
A 2008 Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on Route 1 in the left lane when it came upon a male pedestrian – dressed all in black – standing in the left lane. The Impala was unable to avoid the pedestrian and struck him. 
 
The pedestrian, Marco A. Bevilacqua, 34, of Fairfax, Va., died at the scene. 
 
The 52-year-old Stafford County male driver of the Chevrolet was not injured in the crash. 
 
No charges will be placed
