City leaders approve new fees for Manassas parks

MANASSAS — City leaders approved a new fee schedule for the use of fields at Manassas parks.

Under the new guidelines, permits for fields with lights will cost $6.50 per hour and fields without lights $4.75 per hour. For field tournaments, the city will charge $100 per field per day, plus the hourly rate.

For-profit organizations will pay $125 per day, plus the corresponding hourly rate.

The new rates come after the city hired a consultant to come and review the fees charged by the entire parks, culture, and recreation department.

The field use fees had been $3.50 an hour, $6 an hour per league.

Ten city fields have lights while 14 do not.

The fees will take effect on July 1.

In addition to field fees, the council approved a host of new fees for city parks.
