Sheetz opened it’s 514th store in North Stafford.
Store employees, county officials, and curious residents who watched hte buidling rise out of the ground starting last fall cheered when a ribbon was cut to open the fast food fueling station at 11 a.m.
“Now we’re open, and we’re never going to close,” said Emily Sheetz, who was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony.
The 24-hour pit stop offers not only lower priced fuel, but deli sandwiches, hamburgers, coffee, and a wide range of cold drinks — from soda to milkshakes.
Sheetz hired 38 employees to operate the new store. Many were handing out gift cards, and samples of sandwiches and doughnuts during the grand opening ceremony.
The store at the intersection of Garrisonville (Route 610) and Furnace roads is one of 28 new locations the company plans to open in 2016. It is the second Sheetz to open in Stafford County.
The growing Pennsylvania-based company plans to continue opening stores in its six core focus states of Virginia, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, said Sheetz.
