Woodbridge man issued 4th DUI charge

A man is charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, and driving under the influence his fourth such charge in 10 years, according to police.

Assault & Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer [LEO] – On February 2 at 7:24PM, a Prince William County police officer conducted a vehicle stop in the area of the Jefferson Davis Hwy and Bel Air Rd in Woodbridge (22191) for a traffic violation.  As the officer began to approach the vehicle, the accused got out and assaulted the officer. As the accused was being placed under arrest, he resisted and continued to strike the officer. The accused was quickly detained without further incident.  Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, the accused was determined to be intoxicated and subsequently arrested.

Charged with assault & battery on a LEO, driving under the influence: 4th in 10 years,unreasonable refusal: 3rd or subsequent offense, resisting arrest, and additional traffic related charges
